2020 was an unprecedented year for the entire community with the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the year, we still worked tirelessly to meet our goals, help families achieve affordable homeownership, and continue to support our staff and volunteers.
This year, despite COVID, we’ve helped 5 families become homeowners. We implemented a new web-based Homeowner Application Program, enabling remote access to complete applications safely and securely. While we understand online isn’t always feasible, we still had applications printed for pick up and required masks in our office and store. We now have 12 (!!!) new families in the pipeline to begin their homeownership process, including education courses and sweat equity.
Our volunteer numbers were still strong with over 6,000 hours since the beginning of the pandemic! We continued strong with safety precautions in place. Women Build and Corporate Build were still held, and many participants came out to our site. We’re thankful for each and every one of them.
Our ReStore has experienced many of the same struggles as other local small businesses. We are forever thankful for our staff and volunteers for working tirelessly to get shopping and delivery operations back to normal after reopening in May. We implemented new processes to better serve the community, including free “No Contact” furniture pick up. We had 409 scheduled pickups since May!
We were able to continue our operation throughout the pandemic because of community members like you. The support has been overflowing from all sides – volunteers, donors, and supporters.
Thank you for everything,
Your Loveland Habitat Team!
