National Homeownership Month

June is National Homeownership Month! This is a time to celebrate the value that owning a home brings to families, communities, and neighborhoods. 65% of the US owns their own home, and most homeowners consider homeownership to be the single best long-term investment with many of them counting on their home equity to fund retirement, their children’s education, and other important needs.
With 1 in 7 Colorado families paying more than 50% of their income on housing, National Homeownership Month should also be a time to promote the need for affordable homeownership opportunities and a time to support those in their pursuit of safe, decent, and affordable housing.
